Second egg donor down - will this ever happen for us?

I am beside myself. I am numb and sick and disgusted. It's not the donor's fault. She had emergency surgery on Friday. She is recuperating and will make a full recovery but be out of commission for at least a couple months. And she doesn't know if she wants to go ahead with it after that. She will know by Friday. We just got the go ahead from all her tests and I had just got the schedule about 45 minutes ago. For those of you who don't know, the first donor got malaria and was ineligible at the eleventh hour (in August) I am going to email our agency, but because we are in their bargain program there are less donors and no guarantees.
I guess the whole thing is about no guarantees, right?

OMG, I'm so sorry. I can't believe you are being sidelined again. I sincerely hope the 3rd egg donor is the charm.

That's HORRIBLE!!! I am so sorry. How frustrating to feel so absolutely out of control of this process. YES, this will happen for you. It just STINKS that you have been left dangling again.
Third time's the charm, as they say....

oh god, i'm so sorry. it's crazy - we're so used to our OWN bodies failing (too many of us), but this is really crazy to have two donors go down to totally unpredictable things ...

That's tough and so frustrating. Hope things start looking up soon. Hugs.

OMG, Claire I'm so sorry. You have every reason to be beside yourself. I'm so angry for you. Obviously the girl didn't plan on getting sick but I'm angry that things keep on getting in the way. I'm thinking about you hard and hoping something will go your way. Lots of hugs.

No way. This is unbelievable. Of course it's not her fault...but sweetie, you defy the odds. I'm so sorry. I hope the clinic can do SOMETHING for you. JUST FIND SOME EGGS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD (go ahead, scream it). Sigh. Sending you hugs and a huge dose of hope.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! I hope they are able to find you another suitable donor ASAP...
When this works out (and I believe it will for you) you'll know that your baby came to you after all of these challenges and was the one that was meant to be yours.

Od dear, I am so sorry for this new set back. i'm thinking of you.
Just to answer to you question on my blog, here national adoption is not actually an option! Apparently there are no local babies to be adopted. So we are going international and we think maybe Vietnam or South America. Cost wise I'm not sure, we haven't paid anything yet and I suspect that won't happen for a while until we are deemed suitable to adopt. Much love, Fran

I'm so sorry. I hate when all the world feels out of control and there's no clear way to take it back. I hope you have luck contacting the agency.

Here from LFCA, and you have every right to shake your fist at the sky. What freaking luck! Malaria and the emergency surgery?? I'm a possible future egg donor recipient (have alot of question marks going on currently), so I'll definitely be watching and rooting you on from the sidelines. Wishing you the best of luck that your next donor gives you no issues whatsoever.

The SAME THING happened to me -x4. It was awful and terrible and I was even MORE angry at the world.

I discuss it on the "About ME" section of my blog if you want to read it (warning: early pgcy mentioned using a GC and our 4th egg donor!)

Hey there! I just found your blog and wanted to comment because I am in the social work field as well. Two or three months away from taking the clinical exam and just dipping my toe into the waters of lesbian conception :) I'll be back soon!
