I bled SO heavily at 7.5weeks, in a 15 minute span, it was enough to soak 5 pads and then I passed a big clot - all bright red. I was convinced at my emergency ultrasound the next morning that my uterus would be completely empty. But, lo and behold, everything was FINE and intact (and baby is still doing great). They couldn't find any immediate cause for the bleeding, but reminded me - as many of your previous commenters have said - that bleeding is much more common after IVF and with multiples. Your uterus and cervix have so much excess blood pumping to them, that it doesn't take a heck of alot to cause what seems like an alarming amount of bleeding. For days after I spotted red and it eventually turned brown. And I haven't spotted even a speck since them.

Are you going in for an u/s tomorrow or Monday for peace of mind? I hope so, because though I know our stories will help, nothing will make you feel better than seeing for yourself. It scared the hell out of me every time. In the early weeks I had several u/s and they showed a small collection of blood behind the placenta that reabsorbed all on its own, but did cause some bleeding. I also had some bladder/kidney infections that led to some bleeding. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and I second the earlier u/s suggestions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4444495363669207482.post-19710854669978579822010-02-27T18:56:56.800-08:002010-02-27T18:56:56.800-08:00I'm sure all is fine but I know how scary that...I'm sure all is fine but I know how scary that is. Bleeding is more common when using ART. It is probably not related to anything you did (ie excessive acitvity). If it is really causing you a lot of stress, you should request an earlier ultrasound.
